The things we take for granted

During my time in China, I started blogging as an outlet for my frustrations, opinions, emotions, thoughts and generally anything that was on my mind. I recently revisited this blog which brings back many (mostly) fond memories. Here is one that reminds me not to take even the small things in life for granted.

That’s it! I can’t stand it anymore! I can’t stop thinking about you. I can’t stop dreaming about you. I just can’t get you out of my head. Shenzhen is a lonely place but to be stuck here without you is simply unbearable! I can still taste you. I can still smell you. I toke you for granted when I had you but gosh darn I miss you terribly and will never make that mistake again if we are ever re-united!

Oh oven! I just simply NEED you in my life! I love that sweet ‘ding’ sound you make when my muffins are ready. I long to hover around your warmth and peer inside your delicious interior. Oh the things I would put inside you if I had you. Your aromas wrap around me like a cocoon and clings to the end of my nostril hairs. The glorious smells of a Sunday roast, the sweet sweet smells of butter scotch pudding, the homely smells of a hearty pie, the mouth watering smells of freshly baked bread…oh I could go on and on but I think I will just go out and buy you instead.
